How community solar works for you
As a member, you purchase energy from your local solar array at a ~10% discount. In return, you receive solar energy credits that are automatically transferred to your existing utility account, resulting in guaranteed monthly savings.

Who is eligible for the LMI program?
Subscribers qualify for higher bill credits when they are up to 150% of their County’s Area Median Income (AMI) for their household size.
What is Minnesota LMI Program ?
LMI stands for Low-to-Moderate Income.
In the 2023 legislative session, the Minnesota Legislature amended the Community Solar Garden statute (Chapter 60 – MN Laws) by phasing out the “Legacy” program previously operated by Xcel Energy and establishing a new initiative under the administration of the Minnesota Department of Commerce.
